All the Light We Cannot See

An enchanting story of a German boy and an French girl whose paths cross during World War II. The girl is blind, and her father, a locksmith, builds a scale model of their neighborhood that she can use to learn the streets and turns.

The quirky families make for a rich story in the midst of the chaos of war. Living first in Paris, as the Nazi’s invade the city the girl and her father flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo.

A beautifully written book that is a joy to read or to listen to, it won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2015.
