Inspirations: The Cluetrain Manifesto

Posted 20 November 2006

Somehow I never got to reading The Cluetrain Manifesto until recently. I’m stunned at how insightful this work is. It illuminates an awful lot of why blogs have become so popular, why many businesses are struggling with their Internet presence, and a lot more. If you care about the future of business or understanding what’s happening on the web, you need to read this book.

You can read it online at The Cluetrain Manifesto. Personally, I can’t stand reading that much text on screen, and printing it all out makes little sense; you can buy the book for just over $11 from Amazon.

A side note on the perversity of the domain parking pages that litter the web: if you go to www.cluetrainmanifesto.com instead of www.cluetrain.com, you’ll get one of those automated parking pages where someone is trying to earn a few bucks by hoping that you click sponsored links on a site that you came to by accident. Amusingly, the pseudo-site subtitle is “For resources and information on Clue and Train Europe”
